English updates

The Garden of Abdul Gasazi was the first story from the Houghton Mifflin Anthologies that we read in class. The story is the best-selling children’s picture book in 1979 by author Chris Van Allsburg. Chris Van Allsburg is the author of other great stories such as The Polar Express and Jumanji.

From the story, we learnt comprehension skills such as drawing conclusions and noting details. We also learnt some vocabulary words that we can use in our writing. The link below is a fun way that we can practise the vocabulary words.

We will also practise writing the vocabulary words and other high-frequency words during Spelling. Spelling will be on every Friday.
